Paracetamol can be dangerous for pregnant women

This drug, which we are accustomed to use from a small age, from time to time falls into disgrace or favors. I do not want to go a long way to heal, and people rush for saving pills or suspensions, where the active ingredient is universal, this is the legendary paracetamol.

But here is what is revealed in the statistics on the effectiveness of paracetamol in pregnant women. The future of your child can get along with such a cure for colds - a disorder directly related to the mental activity of the brain. The autistic spectrum of the fetus is upset during biochemical reactions in the body of pregnant women, but this is not the only terrible legacy of paracetamol. It has been proved that in such pregnancies, the presence of attention disorders and hyperactivity in a future child is stably noted. The issue was addressed by a group of scientists from Barcelona, exploring the interaction of environmental factors and the health of pregnant women.

The study involved over 2500 pairs of mother + child. ¾ of the children from the group were evaluated at the age of 1 year, in the remaining quarter - at the age of 5 years. It was important to establish the exact relationship between the use of paracetamol moms during pregnancy, and its influence on the state of children in the first years of life. According to statistics, up to 40% of pregnant women are taking paracetamol in the first 32 weeks of pregnancy, and in this case the figure was confirmed.

In different periods up to 32 weeks of pregnancy, mothers from the group took the drug, but the exact time and dosages, clear time, could not be determined exactly. In that part of the study group, where paracetamol was regularly used by moms, there were significant deviations in children in terms of impulsiveness, and they did not pass the care test well. Boys-children from this group also often suffered from autism in various forms.

According to one of the scientists who participated in the study, the use of paracetamol in a short-term method of pain relief is due to its effect on cannabinoid receptors in the brain. This leads to the formation of persistent "wrong" connections between the receptors of different spectra at the microlevel, which becomes the cause of disorders in the child afterwards. In a special group of risk here, of course, children are male. The male type of brain is much more vulnerable when it comes to affecting paracetamol.

The final point in this study is early, scientists say. While there is no exact answer to the question, in what periods of pregnancy, and in what quantities of paracetamol can have such serious consequences.
