Loads at the dawn of the child's mind

The pace of modern life is such that the choice of suitable developmental activities for our kids, we are puzzled, as soon as they start talking. How not to make a mistake in the calculations and not overload the little one, who is still very busy solving his main task - to grow and grow. A word to neurologists.

The question of what to do with a baby usually comes up before the parents when it turns 2 years old. During this period, children begin to gradually enter the world - they learn to communicate with each other and learn. And they all get to this stage, having different opportunities. We are talking about the character, and about the already mastered skills, and about the state of health. It is clear that the state of the nervous system of the baby greatly affects the entire process of its development, including the ability to learn. That is why, before making a plan for the child, it is necessary to understand whether this system works well, controlling almost all important processes in the body. And only a neurologist can answer this question. The fact is that if after birth the baby had problems associated with lack of oxygen (hypoxia) during pregnancy and / or childbirth (for example, perinatal encephalopathy, increased or decreased tone, increased intracranial pressure, excessive excitability), then to the second year, the possible consequences of these violations may persist. During this period, both the doctor treating the baby and his parents will see if the body has managed to overcome the long-standing problems, whether to continue therapy, whether it needs special attention, and therefore, a special mode of study.

The appearance of the first signs of overload is a signal that the schedule for the baby needs to be changed. If he begins to sleep worse, becomes irritable, tearful, if his appetite becomes suddenly upset, then he is tired. And it's time to take action!

Start from the beginning

The first experiments of children in the field of training usually reveal those difficulties, which were not managed to cope with. And this work should not be postponed, because when such a child goes to school, the problems will only increase. What will the child learn that simply does not know how to focus, or keep new information in memory, or manage the letter, because the hands "do not obey"?

To make it clear how the unsolved problem turns into a whole "tangle" of complexities for the child, let's go back a bit. So, the child's ability to learn is related to how his nervous system works. And this result depends on how the child developed from the moment of birth. Step by step, beginning with the emergence and gradual fading of the newborn's reflexes, and then mastering new movements and body positions (from keeping the head to the first confident steps), simultaneously the first samples of the "language" (from walking to babbling, pronouncing syllables, and then phrases), attempts to play (at first simply grabbing a rattle) and so on, the child's nervous system goes the way, each stage of which prepares him for mastering the next. If there is a hitch at any of the gaps, it can "pull" the next one. That's why, under the supervision of a neurologist, babies come from birth - then possible difficulties can be noticed and adjusted without waiting for consequences. And even if such difficulties remain, do not waste time now!

Who is most often in the office of a neurologist on the occasion of training disorders?

A thin, short, shy and awkward kid, who finds it difficult to study with any "little things".

The choice. The load for such children should be measured, as a medicine, in small doses. Preparing for them a schedule of classes, focus on exercise therapy, which will help these babies make up for a hitch in their height and weight, and teach them how to move confidently. It will be useful to them and rhythmic gymnastics with dance elements, it will teach them to manage their body, feel it well and develop coordination of movements. Such children often encounter delays in the development of speech, so they really need classes to develop fine motor skills: drawing, modeling, designing, playing musical instruments. And singing, in addition to facilitating the development of speech, will also train the rumor that, ultimately, it will help the child speak. It is desirable that the group with which the child will be engaged, was small, otherwise it will feel not very comfortable.

Attention! By the age of 3, babies begin to play and communicate with each other. If you notice that the child is avoiding the company of peers, loves to engage with himself, inventing unusual, and even more strange games, do not rush to explain it with congenital shyness. Show the baby to specialists - a neurologist, a psychologist and a defectologist. They will watch how this feature will develop in the child, and, if necessary, help him to cope with it or send it to a psychiatrist.

To the doctor!

The examination, which the neurologist assigns to his small patients, gives information about the condition of all the "participants" of the nervous system: whether the brain cells are well supplied with blood, whether the vessels are dilated or dilated, how they work. Neurosonography, ultrasound dopplerography, duplex scanning of the vessels of the head will help answer the first question. And an electroencephalogram will determine the state of the cells in the cerebral cortex - whether they are excited and not depressed. Depending on the results obtained, babies are prescribed treatment, and one should not think that the solution of the problem requires only the help of medicines. In fact, the course of restorative therapy, in addition to drugs, includes many methods. Among them there are various types of massage (including special point massage, and also cold massage), and therapeutic gymnastics and physiotherapy (for example, therapeutic baths, electrophoresis, muscle stimulation with an electric discharge or heat), and special swimming lessons, and much more.

The results of the survey will help you decide on what and how long it takes for the baby. Children who have passed all the complexities of the development path or have successfully overcome the difficulties encountered, no restrictions are needed. And if the child has unresolved problems, it becomes clear that the first "training" load for him should be very gentle. On the other hand, it can help to correct the existing shortcomings. The survivors of the two-year-olds have problems with the problems that arise during pregnancy and childbirth, called minimal brain dysfunction (MMD). This concept means that the structure of the brain in such babies is not violated, but the work of the nervous system has suffered - due to damage to its cells by hypoxia, problems in their blood supply and unavailability for the work of the pathways from the brain to the organs and back the nervous impulse-command (experts call this phenomenon demyelination - a delay in the development of the nerve shell). Manifestations of MMD are different: difficulties in handling small items (because of problems with motor skills); Awkwardness (from violation of coordination of movements); delay in mastering speech, inability to pronounce any letters, down to "porridge in the mouth"; excessive impressionability and excessive activity, problems in order to keep attention. And having determined what exactly these manifestations are expressed in the baby, it will be possible to understand what it is worth to do.

The first experiments of children in the field of training usually reveal those difficulties in the work of the nervous system, which it was not possible to cope with. And this work should not be postponed, because when such a child goes to school, the problems will only increase.

Caution: Overload!

Since the nervous system of the toddlers, as well as the whole organism, continues to develop by the beginning of the learning stage, it is not safe to overload them with different activities. This tension can disrupt the operation of the system, frustrating the already fragile equilibrium of the time of growth and development. The first step to preventing overloading is a reasonably designed schedule. And in this case, the parents will be helped by specialists: a neurologist (if the baby has had problems in the past), and a neuropsychologist. Based on the results of testing, it will help not only to select a list of useful lessons for the child, but also make up a program of developing missing skills, for example, assiduity. A neuropsychologist will tell you how long it takes for a toddler to study and explain to his parents how to behave with a small student.

The second step that will help protect the baby is the attention of the parents. The appearance of the first signs of overload is a signal that the schedule should be changed as soon as possible. If a child suddenly starts to sleep worse, to be capricious, becomes irritable, tearful, if his appetite becomes suddenly upset, then he is tired.

A fussy kid, who quickly switches from one occupation to another, does not feel the danger.

The choice. It is difficult for such children to keep their attention, so swimming, gymnastics, or some other mobile activities will be of great benefit to them, which will give way to their irrepressible energy. Actually, the training sessions in their schedule should be a little, especially at first, and the time of the "lesson" should be increased gradually, starting from 5 minutes. And perseverance, and the ability to learn in such babies need to be educated.

Attention! If the toddler baby is still angry and aggressive, refuses to obey the elders, often turns into crying in protest, it is necessary to show it to the neurologist. The doctor will help to find the reason why the excitation-inhibition mechanism in the nervous system of the child is debilitated, and will prescribe a calming treatment.
